How We Source and Check Nutrition Data
Where the numbers come from
Our goal for every calculator is to use the restaurant's own published nutrition information: its online nutrition calculator, nutrition PDF, or the menu labelling it publishes. Each ingredient is stored with its figures for one standard serving exactly as the restaurant reports it.
When a calculator is first published from a third-party listing, the page says so in a highlighted notice at the top and names the source. That notice is removed only after every line has been checked against the restaurant's own figures.
How totals are calculated
- Each tap adds one standard serving of that ingredient. A double portion counts as two servings.
- Totals are the simple sum of the servings you select.
- If any selected ingredient is missing a figure, that total shows a dash instead of an undercount.
Limits
Restaurant portions are made by hand and vary from visit to visit. Recipes and suppliers change. Treat every total as a close estimate, not an exact measurement.
Updates and corrections
Each calculator shows the date its data was last updated. We re-check calculators when restaurants change their menus. If you spot a number that does not match the restaurant's own information, pleasetell us and we will fix it.
